Become a Volunteer
If you are interested in finding out more about the Therapet Service and to see if your pet could be registered with Canine Concern Scotland Trust as a Therapet here is what to do next.
Contact us at info@canineconcernscotland.org.uk giving your address and telephone number and we will send you an information pack which contains details on how the Trust operates and what is required of you and your dog or cat.
Potential Therapets must be at least one year old but there is no upper age limit. They must have been owned for at least six months. They must pass an assessment which will normally be carried out by one of our Area Representatives or by someone we deem suitable to carry out the assessment on our behalf. Once registered your Therapet must visit adults continuously for one year before it can be considered for working with children.
For any potential volunteers, we will require you to provide two character references and all our new volunteers must agree to us arranging for them to become PVG Scheme members, if they are not members already themselves.
The current Annual Membership fees are listed below. The Therapet Registration fee is a one-off payment of £5. Anyone can support CCST by becoming a member, but, for insurance purposes, Therapet Volunteers must retain their membership.
