Douglas Ruthven BEM

“We are extremely sad to announce that our Honorary Life President, Douglas Ruthven, died on 20^th December 2024 after a long illness. Douglas became a Therapet Volunteer in 1998 and was appointed as  Area Representative for Edinburgh and The Lothians in 2000 a position he held until he retired in 2016.  During this period, he had three Therapets and was the driving force behind initiatives, including our ‘PAWS Against Stress®’ visits. Douglas also served as a Trustee from 2008 to 2020. He was awarded a British Empire Medal in 2017 for service in the community. We send our sincere sympathies to his wife Irene and family.”

Funeral will be on the 14^th January at 12noon in Mortonhall Crematorium, Main Chapel Crematorium. Edinburgh.
